Equipment and

supplier list

You will need to buy some things to succeed with your growing business. For example, plant lights, boards, floating row covers, insect nets, etc. These are on the equipment list. Click on the icon on the left to read about the most important things you should buy and why this equipment is important.

We have found that it is usually cheaper to buy via e.g. Amazon than in stores here in Sweden. In addition, you can only get many of the specialized tools abroad. We have put forward proposals for suppliers for each product. If you find other cheaper or better Swedish suppliers, feel free to contact you!

If you only want a couple of vegetable beds in your garden, there is no need to buy specially tailored "no-you" equipment. But if you, like us, want to invest in a larger crop, it may be worth buying some things that will facilitate your work and save quite a bit of time. What we like most are the following:

Bed Maker - to make the compost compact before sowing.

Tilther - a tool driven by a drilling machine that fines the top compost layer and mixes in soil improvements such as stone flour and oyster shells. It is like a very superficial tiller and we use it when we put a new 5 cm layer of compost on the beds at the end of the growing season.

Jang Seeder - very good if you want many carrots !!

Oscillating and Collinear Hoes - very good hoes

To the left are two videos from Ridgedale Farm, explaining how to use the "no-dig" equipment. You will notice that Richard Perkins talks about something called "broadfork". He and other experts have now more or less stopped using broadfork, as the result is at least as good without.
